Book well in advance. Entry is strictly timed. Bernini's sculptures are among the most breathtaking things you will ever see in person. Allow two hours minimum.

The best cacio e pepe in Rome, full stop. Also a wine bar and deli. Make a reservation. It books up weeks ahead. Worth every bit of the wait.

A 30-minute trip to explore the historic Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano or lakeside cafes in Anguillara.

Campo de' Fiori Market

Every morning there is a lively market. Grab fresh fruit, local produce, and flowers. Then settle into one of the surrounding bars for a proper espresso.

An ancient Roman port city just 30 minutes from Rome, and far less crowded than Pompeii. Incredibly preserved with stunning mosaics and open-air ruins.

30 minutes from Rome in the Castelli Romani hills. Rolling vineyards, panoramic views, and the local white wine is delightful. Perfect for a half-day escape.

Aventine Keyhole

Peek through the Knights of Malta keyhole for a perfectly framed view of St. Peter’s Dome. Free, quick, and utterly magical. Do not miss it.
